Web Standards and Accessibility
What is accessibility?
Accessibility is all about making web sites accessible to ALL users. This includes disabled, blind, low mobility, colour blind, and deaf users, also those using a screen reader or any other device used to assist them with surfing the internet. Basically all users of the web are entitled to access the same content, regardless of their abilities or disabilities.
Is this site accessible?
Yes. I have created this web site with accessibility in mind. Webxact is a free online tool that can test a site for accessibility. This site complies with all three priority checks for accessibility (both automatic checks and manual checks) and is therefore sufficiently accessible to all users.
You can check this website's accessibility by entering the url here.

What are web standards and why do i need them?
Web standards are guidelines that have been created by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) to convey the correct way that web sites should be constructed and coded in order to keep them as simple and usable as possible. Web sites that comply with web standards are more likely to avoid problems with browser display, broken layouts and be compatible with other devices like web-enabled mobile phones.
In short following web standards further ensures the success of a web site in both the short and long term.
Is this site compliant with web standards?
Yes. All of the web sites that I make are fully compliant with the W3C's web standards (in particular XHTML strict). This ensures that my web sites are constructed properly and to a professional standard.
Test this site's XHTML to see that it is fully compliant now!
You can also test this web site's CSS (Cascading Style Sheet) coding for validation.
You can find more information about web standards at the World Wide Web Consortium's site.
